About Honeywear

Our mission is to create products that nurture family, community and the environment through socially responsible, local production. We will ensure quality and comfort by using organic and all natural materials to provide innovative and trendsetting lines of clothing and accessories.

Christen Ward is a mother of four, living in the beautiful mountains surrounding Asheville, NC. She lives with a strong commitment to the environment and to her children. With a love of her family, social issues, business, and organics, and a commitment to improving the planet for generations to come, Honeywear was born.  

With her third child on the way, Christen Ward had tried multiple baby carriers, none that completely suited her needs. As a solution to this problem, she studied her favorite aspects of all carriers and combined them all into Honeywear's premier product, the Baby Bee Sling™. The Baby Bee Sling is a one size fits all baby carrier made of only the most natural materials, making it chemical free and safe for children. As a concerned citizen, Christen also knew that all products would have to somehow give back to her own community. The way she has accomplished this is through all local production. This has enabled her to create jobs within the community, while allowing for strict quality control standards, and offering her clients a made in the USA product that they can trust.

In addition, Honeywear is a carbon neutral company and runs a paperless office. Our concerns for social and environmental standards will never be compromised. We are committed to the highest level of customer service and are always here to help our clients. We believe that good businesses are run by good people, and that the customer always comes first.

With the huge success of the Baby Bee Sling™, Christen has decided to add more products to her line, beginning with an affordable, organic, locally made children's clothing line, to be launched Fall 2009, and is looking forward to continuing to fill the market demand for safe and utilitarian products for children and families.
